After owning a purebred dog who had many health issues, Nathan Crockett and Abigail, his wife, decided to get not just a healthier dog but also a dog that shed less. They spent a long time researching different breeders before finally settling on a dog. The prevalence of puppy mills as well as poorly educated backyard breeders made it extremely difficult for the Crocketts to find a good place to purchase their puppy from.
In 2011, wanting to become the kind of breeder that he had been trying so hard to find, Nathan decided that he would offer high-quality, family-raised pups for a reasonable price. Part of that goal was also to have pups that had been lovingly socialized and cared for by a top-notch vet. Most importantly, Nathan wanted to offer families peace of mind that their puppies had been raised with love and comfort and had come from directly within the home. That was the beginning of Crockett Doodles.

Nathan first desired to breed Doodles for two reasons, Doodles are hypoallergenic and have hybrid vigor. But not every family wants a hypoallergenic dog. In fact, some families dislike the curly coat of the Doodle or desire a specific look that the Doodle breed cannot achieve. So Nathan decided to apply the “secret sauce” of Crockett Doodles to other hybrids.
